These are the days when we have to remember how good God is. Not every day will be easy. There are days when the enemy will taunt you, try to get inside your head, test your patience, or just have you feeling blah. On these days stay focused on the Lord. I don't know about you, but the hard days make me cranky. Ask him to help you bridle your tongue, in Proverbs 21:23, we are told, One who guards his mouth and his tongue, guards his soul from troubles. Oh how easy to say things out of frustration, but how quickly those words can turn a whole day around. Proverbs 18:21 tells us that, Life and Death are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat it's fruit. The words we say can make our day better or worse, they can also do the same to those around you. Words can be misused in all kinds of ways, but when used properly and with a heart focused around Jesus, they can edify others. Just as food satisfies your hunger, well chosen words can be equally be a source of contentment. That's where I go back to focusing on the Lord. Some ways to do this are to Be Still, call his name. Pray, tell him that you are having an off day and you need Him. Read His Word. Just tonight, I did this, I held my Bible and asked God to show me what He needed me to hear. I was directed to Jeremiah 17:7-8. These verses reminded me that He is my strength as long as I trust in Him (this is Unshakable faith), as strong as a tree planted by the water (these roots are strong), that has no fear of heat (these are the hard days), not anxious in a year of drought (the drought is the bad days, weeks, months or years), not ceasing to produce fruit (fruit of the spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control). I was also reminded in the previous verses 5 &6 not to place my trust in humankind, to only depend on God to give me the security and comfort that may be causing that hard day. Not even your spouse, nor your children nor your best friend in the world can give you that amount of love. They can add to it, so I am not saying not to let them love on you, but when you trust in God first for this, everything else falls in place. Instant calm to my soul. I had to to share this, as it was to good not to share how you can experience the same love that God offers me, He wants to offer to you as well. Trust in the Lord and love him with all your heart, soul and mind as Jesus speaks in Matthew 22:37
